Date: 12/16/2024 Time: 5:32 PM Jurisdiction- Hopewell Township
Type of Incident: Criminal Mischief / Attempted Burglary
Investigating Officer: James Stanton
Details: On December 16, 2024 at 5:32 PM Officer Stanton responded to a River Rd address for a reported criminal mischief and attempted burglary that occurred just prior. The caller reported hearing a loud bang at his front door. When he went downstairs, he found the front door glass was smashed and a baseball bat was left on the porch. No entry was made into the residence or the vehicles on the property. The area was canvassed and evidence was collected from the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

Type of Incident: Warrant Arrest
Accused Name: Maleeka Fowler
Accused Address: Eisenhower Ave Trenton, NJ 08618
Investigating / Arresting Officer: James Stanton
Details: On December 17, 2024 at 4:00PM Officer Stanton was on patrol when he observed a silver Toyota with a broken tail light near the intersection of Rt 546 and Rt 579. Officer Stanton conducted a motor vehicle stop in the same location. The driver, identified as Maleeka Fowler, was found to have an active warrant out of Trenton and another out of Mt Laurel Township totaling $1,500. Fowler was then asked to step from the vehicle and was placed under arrest on scene. She was transported to HTPD for processing. Both Trenton and Mt Laurel advised to release Fowler with a new court date. She was released from custody and the matters will be heard in municipal court.

Type of Incident: Theft / Fraud
Investigating: Eric Lei
Details: On December 17, 2024 Officer Lei met with the victim of theft and fraud in the HTPD lobby. The victim reported being the victim of a gift card scam over the phone. The victim received numerous text messages stating “Xfinity Alert” which directed the victim to call a number to resolve the issue. Once in contact the victim was made to purchase gift cards and provide the numbers over the phone. The victim reported purchasing $4,950.00 in cards. The investigation is ongoing.

Date: 12/18/2024 Time: 12:51 PM Jurisdiction – Hopewell Township
Type of Incident: Shoplifting
Investigating Officer: Ryan Finnegan
Details: On December 18, 2024 Officer Finnegan responded to the Stop&Shop on Denow Road for a reported Shoplifting. The incident took place earlier on the same date and the suspects were not on scene. Officer Finnegan made contact with loss prevention who provided surveillance video showing two parties in the store at approximately 1054 hours on this date. The subjects are seen taking $358.71 in items from the store and leaving without payment. The investigation is ongoing.

Type of Incident: Shoplifting
Investigating Officer: Eric Lei
Details: On December 21, 2024 Officer Lei responded to Stop & Shop on Denow Rd for a reported shoplifting which occurred on 12/19/2024 at 7:30PM. Loss prevention provided surveillance video which showed a male subject entering the store and taking $77.94 of good without payment. The items were reported as seafood from the freezer section. The investigation is ongoing.

Type of Incident: Shoplifting
Investigating Officer: Eric Lei
Details: On December 21, 2024 at 7:01 PM Officer Lei responded back to Stop&Shop for another reported shoplifting. This incident took place on December 20, 2024 at 4:33 PM. The surveillance video showed one female subject entering the store and taking $619.43 in various items from throughout the store. The investigation is ongoing.

Type of Incident: Theft / Fraud
Investigating Officer: Michael Enriquez
Details: On December 30, 2024 Officer Enriquez met with the victim of theft in the HTPD lobby. The victim stated that a check he sent in the mail was stolen and forged. The check was the $408 check was mailed for a bill, but he was notified that the bill was unpaid and the check was never received. Information regarding the check and bank statement was provided to the officer. The investigation is ongoing.

Accused Name: Colin Mchugh
Accused Address: Stuart Ave Ewing, NJ 08638
Investigating / Arresting Officer: Paul Alvaro
Charges: Contempt of Court
Details: On January 2, 2024 Officer Alvaro stopped a Toyota Rav4 for a speeding violation on Route 654 near Route 31. The driver, identified as Colin Mchugh, was found to have a warrant for $1,500 out of Jackson Township Municipal Court. Mchugh was arrested on scene and transported to HTPD for processing. Mchugh was later released on his own recognizance. The matter will be heard in Municipal Court.

Type of Incident: Warrant Arrest
Accused Name: Sylvia Rytel
Accused Address: Birch Hollow Drive Bordentown, NJ 08505
Investigating / Arresting Officer: Maria Gavdanovich
Charges: Contempt of Court / Obstruction
Details: On January 3, 2025 at 6:44PM Officer Gavdanovich responded to Titus Mill Road for a reported disabled vehicle. Officer Gavdanovich made contact with the driver, who initially provided a false identity. The driver was later identified as Sylvia Rytel, who was found to have an active warrant for her arrest out of Hamilton Township Municipal Court. Rytel was arrested on scene and transported to HTPD for processing. She was charged with Contempt and Obstruction. Rytel was later turned over to Hamilton Township Police. The matter will be heard in Municipal Court.
